Doctor Bio
Kurt Van Winkle, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. VanWinkle was born and raised in Indianapolis. He attended Brebeuf Prepatory High School then earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Indiana University Bloomington.
He began his private practice in 1990. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Masters of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in
Periodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. He served as a clinical instructor in the Department of
Periodontics at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, American
Academy of Periodontology, Indiana Dental Association and the Indianapolis District Dental Society.
He was the first periodontist
in Indianapolis certified to perform laser surgery using the FDA approved Periolase Nd:YAG laser providing a "no cutting/no stitching"
minimally invasive surgical treatment option for patients. Dr. VanWinkle regularly provides continuing education seminars to area
dentists and hygienist on current topics in periodontal disease treatment and tooth replacement with dental implants. Dr. VanWinkle
has been named "Top Indianapolis Area Periodontist" in Indianapolis Monthly by his peers.
He is married to wife Ellie and has three children David, Caitlin and Caroline. He enjoys playing golf, tennis, water and snow
skiing. He is an active pilot and frequently travels the country with his family. |
